Who likes saying thanks
at this time of year?
I send Thanksgiving greetings to most people
on my business card index. It's a very
small way of acknowledging and thanking
folks that have somehow exerted a
positive influence on me in the past year.
During my seven months this year on chemo,
I used my faith, my sense of humour and
my attitude plus the support of my friends to defeat the beast.
Yes, cancer sucks. But I was ever so minded of the many, many
other people – from the child to the senior – that are in very
painful and difficult times with their battle.
I give thanks to the doctors and marvellous staff
at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
I'm grateful for having grown personally and
professionally over the past four seasons.
It's in the fall, when life is aplenty,
that I am most appreciative.
One of the blessings that shines bright
in my life is the friendship we share.
God leads to us, as stewards,
Abundance we might share
And thus provides earth's children
The blessing of His care.
Give thanks, my soul, for harvest
For store of fruit and grain;
But know the owner gives so
That we may share again.
May you and your family
have a wonderful holiday weekend.
Have a Happy and Glorious Thanksgiving 2005.
