Agora Films Mentorship Program recognized

Calgary's Agora Films International Inc., which set up a production assistants Mentorship Program last year, has been invited to be a corporate partner in Alberta's Promise Council, an initiative by the Government of Alberta to develop a partnership with children and youth.   Alberta's Promise is an initiative that encourages all sectors of the community to direct more resources to benefit its children and youth.

Agora Films mentorship program includes five young people between the ages of 18 to 21 years.    Agora Films program covers the cost of the two production assistants courses at Mount Royal College; memberships in Alberta Motion Pictures Industries Association and Documentary Association of Canada; subscriptions to a Canadian film magazine; and being invited along to attend film industries events in Alberta such as the annual Alberta Television and Film Awards in Edmonton, pre-Banff pitching sessions, as well as industry workshops and special events.

Agora Films share the vision of "making Alberta the best place in the world to raise our children.”    As a Promise Builder, the company's goal is to make a commitment to children and youth in Alberta.  Agora Films will be recognized on the Council's website, in its annual report, and in both newspaper and broadcast messages.    Agora Films president Edmund A. Oliverio states that "we are proud in pulling the wagon for Promise 5, Leadership and Innovation for Alberta's young people."
