Family Day Ray and his twin sister Roxy were born on a cold blistery night in Drumheller on the first Family Day holiday in 1990.  Fifteen years later their eccentric Uncle Bob, a science and math teacher at Drumheller Composite high school, makes an amazing discovery while searching for dinosaur bones in the Alberta badlands.    The discovery enables the twins and their dog Jasper to venture back to the early 1900’s.

While on their action packed adventures they encounter many of Alberta’s most

news worthy historical characters and events, for example -- Chief Crowfoot, Tom Three Persons, Patrick Burns, Guy Weadick, and John George ‘Kootenai’ Brown.

The book includes a prologue by Mike Robinson, CEO of Glenbow Museum, and a forward message by Eric Brewer, Team Canada/NHL hockey player.

Agora Films president Edmund A. Oliverio has indicated that his company is looking to produce the animated version of the book before the end of the Alberta centennial. “We are very proud to be associated with this project that is both entertaining and educational,” he said.

Goal:

To produce an animated television special based on the Alberta centennial book “The Alberta Time Travel Adventures of Family Day Ray, Roxy & Jasper” by Rob Lennard.     The book features highlights of Alberta’s famous events and famous people.   Mike Robinson, CEO of The Glenbow Museum, says “this book presents a fact-based fictional tour of Alberta’s history that is accessible and fun to read.   At a time when electronic media are swamping education, it is refreshing to find a paper alternative!   I hope you will find the time for this kind of diversion into our collective past.   Thanks to Rob Lennard many students will learn the basics of our story in a friendly, entertaining way.”    The production will be available afterwards in DVD format to be gifted to public and private elementary school libraries.
