“Agora Films International was incorporated as an Alberta Corporation one year ago today,” proudly states the founding partners, executive producers John A. Labow and Edmund A. Oliverio.

During Agora Film’s first year it has gained national attention from film industry trade publications and funding organizations.

The company has 13 productions in development over the next 18 months ranging from two musical specials to a television movie of the week, plus six documentaries, a lifestyle short series, a television comedy series and an extreme adventure travel show.

The MOW is a true tale with the working title “Espionage on The Hill,” tracing the investigative reporting of one Canadian journalist (Paul Conrad Jackson) which led to the expulsion of 13 Soviet spies in 1979.

Like most new production companies, Agora Films has had the normal growing pains.  However with the expertise and 76 years of experience by its producers these were overcome quickly.

The company has begun to offer its services as a western region producer for film companies looking for a partner.

Agora Films includes a team with a production assistant, a researcher and a scriptwriter.

“The next 18 months will be a whirlwind experience for the company,” says President Edmund Oliverio. “John’s award winning background as a well-respected documentary producer has propelled the company into this film genre.”

The Agora Films website (www.agorafilms.ca) has extensive information on all 13 productions in development as well as background on the company’s two principals and production team.
